Senior Windows Server Engineer (Remote)
Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
This position will serve as part of the Windows Server Engineering team and will be responsible for developing and driving solutions that are reliable, adaptable, and cost-effective. They will drive assigned projects and initiatives, performing activities fitting to their area of expertise.

• Disaster Recovery Planning and Test Execution
• Internal Audit Investigation Support
• Server and Data Migrations (planning and execution)
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning
• Physical/Virtual Server Design
• Privileged Access/Access Control Lists
• System Requirements Analysis
• Advanced Root Cause Analysis
• Create and Maintain SOP and Risk Control Documentation
• Performance and Capacity Planning
• Advanced Server and Operating System Troubleshooting
• Upgrades/Patching/Vulnerability Consultation and Remediation
• 3rd Level Operational Support (L3 Escalation)
• Participate in L3 On-Call Rotation
• Security Baseline Configuration Management and Reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Systems engineer including systems programmer, scripting, troubleshooting OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Systems engineer including systems programmer, scripting, troubleshooting
Preferred Area of Study: Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Information Systems,
Preferred Area of Experience: Windows Server
License or Certification Type: Microsoft Preferred
Preferred Skill(s):
• Strong technical skills in Server Operating System (Windows) and advanced debugging techniques
• Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience with developing and driving enterprise-wide remediation plans (e.g., Windows 2012 EOL) including running meetings and tracking task status.
• Strong scripting proficiency (PowerShell)
• Experience with configuration management automation (Puppet, Ansible, chef, etc.)
• Strong Troubleshooting and Investigative skills.
• Experience with Network Protocols (TLS/SSL and Cipher algorithms and key length)
• Experience with Security controls through Registry and Group Policy
• Experience with Virtual Computing, Storage and Networking (VMWare, AWS, etc.)
• Familiar with Agile DevOps project management tools
• Familiar with Systems Development testing tools
• Experience with CMDB/ITIL Management

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $115,500 and $177,100. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
